Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden - Youth Field Trip Leader
Learn to lead school field trips: This role is great for those who enjoy helping youth learn, are patient with young learners, and enjoy speaking in front of groups. The training will allow you to watch a presentation of Pollinator Palooza (the most requested program), review field trip logistics (what are the volunteer tasks from begin to the end of the field trip) and cover the expectations of volunteers in this role and general helping tips (what to do with awkward silences?!). Scheduling is flexible, Tuesday through Friday, and is dependent on requests. volunteer@dmbotanicalgarden.com
Heart Heroes Inc. - Superhero Heart Run
Thank you for your interest in being a SUPER Volunteer for the Des Moines Superhero Heart Run! Volunteers are needed throughout the event, between roughly 10:00am - 4:00pm. Tutoring Chicago - Volunteer to tutor 1:1 with a 1st-10th grader
Life-changing role models needed. Tutoring Chicago is a free one-to-one tutoring program for students in grades 1-10. During the 2023-2024 school year, Tutoring Chicago will offer both in-person and digital tutoring options to our tutors/students from late September to late May.
