PEOPLE SERVING PEOPLE INC CHARITIES- Afternoon K12 Program Volunteer (18+)
Volunteers work one-on-one or in small groups supporting teachers in the K12 program as they lead activities for kids ages 5-18 (majority 5-12) and provide general classroom support. During the school year, K12 programing focuses on assisting in schoolwork and socializing in a safe environment after school. Summertime programming in K12 focuses more on social and emotional learning than on academic learning unless specifically requested by parents, so volunteers will primarily be expected to casually play with/spend time with kids and keep them engaged in activities in the classroom. Effective K12 volunteers will be patient and comfortable in an unstructured classroom environment, proactive about engaging with kids and drawing them into activities (rather than staying on the sidelines/waiting for kids to come to them). Shifts are available Monday through Friday, 2pm-6pm, with opportunities for partial shifts.Â

MOUNT OLIVET CAREVIEW HOME- Decorating for the Holidays.
Mount Olivet Home and Careview Home have been serving senior residents for over 60 years in South Minneapolis. We rank number 1 in Minnesota and received recognition in Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes 2023 list.
Who doesn't love a beautifully-decorated home for the holidays?! We love to offer our residents beautiful decorations throughout their communal home - inside and out - and would love your help in the process! Whether it is using our existing decor or adding to it, we would love to make our facility a Winter Wonderland for residents and their families to enjoy. This is a great opportunity for corporate groups of 5-10 volunteers to come together and transform the facility into something beautiful and have fun while doing it.
